With steep slopes and soaring elevations reaching 2,200 feet, Napa Valley’s renowned Howell Mountain offers an ideal combination of elevation, topography, soil and climate for growing majestic mountain wines. Wine Profile

Production Notes
Varietal Composition: 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc
Winemaker Notes
This opulent expression of mountain winegrowing displays enticing layers of black currant, blackberry and elderberry, underscored by hints of cocoa nibs and sage. The rich, dark-berry flavors are echoed on the palate, where they are framed by fine, dusty tannins and alluring hints of chocolate and spice that linger throughout a luxurious finish.
Production
2019 brought another exceptional vintage to Napa Valley, resulting in wines with alluring polish and poise! The season began with a wet winter followed by a mild spring. While this led to a slightly later-than-normal start to the season, ideal summer weather with no significant heat spikes ensured ideal flavor development, yielding complex and vibrant whites, and refined reds with elegant tannins, enticing aromatics and beautiful fruit flavors.

Recently did a blind tasting with 3 couples with the Howell Mtn Red vs. the Rutherford Cabernet and Monitor Ledge Cabernet. All were 2019. The Howell Mtn blend was hands down everyone’s favorite. That little extra merlot smoothed the wine so the flavors were just overwhelming. Bravo to the winemaker!
